What
is EWI®?
Executive Women International® is a gathering of key business women
dedicated to business, personal and community development.
Today's business woman needs
a forum for ongoing career education, professional development, enhanced
personal and philanthropic involvement.
Executive Women
International® is that forum. With approximately 3,500 member firms and
5,000 representatives participating in chapters/branches throughout the
United States, Canada, and Europe. EWI® has
been helping its members enhance their companies, enrich their careers,
and serve their communities since 1938. This is accomplished through
activities that bring representatives together for recognition and
exchange of information and ideas, leadership and service opportunities,
special programs for self-improvement, and support materials.
EWI® chapters/branches are
comprised of leading, non-competitive firms, each of which is
represented by one or two individuals at the executive or administrative
level.
History
The first chapter was chartered in San Francisco in 1938. Los Angeles
followed in 1939. In 1964 EWI® became international with the chartering
of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Tampa Bay was chartered
that same year on
April 2nd. Currently there are 85 chapters with Brussels,
Istanbul, Paris and Frankfurt on the horizon for future Global
Expansion.
